I just bought my son a 2004 F150 FX4. It has an Audiophile Radio/CD. It also has an auxiliary button on it. I looked under the dash by dropping the glove compertment and can see a square connector. Is this possibly where an auxiliary connection is. He wants to connect an MP3 player to it. The way I do it in my Excursion is - Headphone out of the MP3 to RCA into the inputs on the rear DVD. Any suggestions?
I have to imagine it's the same radio as the superduty and there is a squarish connector free on the back of the radio. This runs the changer/aux input. Some of the newer radios (I'm thinking the 05+ with CAN) have an option for analog input in that connector, but I don't know about the 99-04.
If it's an actual Apple Ipod, I would get an interface such as PIE, Peripheral, Axxess, USA Spec, ect that would allow him to control the Ipod with the CD changer controls on the radio.
We had a thread going here a year or so ago about the AUX input panel. I don't recall anyone finding the pinout on the radio to add a 2.5mm jack and I can't recall right now what years that was for.
Does anyone have the harness pinouts for 99-04 and 05+ radios?
