Help Borg Warner 44-06 MSOF Transfer Case
I pulled it apart, and besides slight wear on the plastic lock-up fork and gouging on the armature plate things look fine. My thinking is the wear of the fork moved he armature just enough that it is dragging on the hub by the coil thus causing the noise from the two plates rubbing.
Besides changing the forks and armature plate, I'm changing all the seals and main input and output bearings. Do you think I should change anything else? The bushing in the tail piece has some slight wear, but you can not buy the bushing by itself and Ford wants $120 for the tail piece with the bushing. They throw in the seal, so basically it would be $100. I can always change that when it's on the truck, so I'm not to worried about it now and will not change it.
Does everyone thing I got it right or should I throw in anyhting else that is known to cause problems. Thanks for your help in advance.
