Hey does the DVD Entertainment deal have hidden jacks on them? Want to hook up my daughters PS2 to the DVD, but hate the cords hanging down to the floor.
I would like to add a panel under the passengers seat to plug the PS2 into the DVD as well as 110V, just to make for a cleaner look. Figure if there are extra jacks it would be easy to put them thought the headliner and behind the panels between the doors.
Who made these units? Wonder if you can find a manual for just the DVD on-line, the Ford Owners manual really just goes over how to use the unit.
My '03 Expy with Fords DVD system has right and left audio jacks and a video jack, all RCA style jacks. The jacks are located on the control panel of the DVD player mounted to the ceiling. It wouldn't be to tough to run a set of patch under the upolstery down to the floor.
I was told this system was built by Visteon (my expy was built in June of '02).
We have used our Xbox with the system and it works great.
I went to Circuit City and had them run a set of shielded RCA A/V cables through the upholstry and down under the passenger seat. They even put in in a little box and braced it to the floor along with a power inverter I had them hard wire into the system. The only modification I had them make was make a groove in the DVD casing so the wires could fit through without leaving a gap. We mainly use it for an extra DVD player that plays DVD-R and DVD-RW. I also had an extra screen installed in the front. Now, my wife and I can watch a different movie, or the same one my kid is, from up front. We get different sound by my kid using headphones and using an FM modulator (also installed by circuit city) to hear our movie through the radio. If I could figure out how to post pictures to this thing I would show you.
