I drive a 1985 Ford F250 Supercab 2WD 6.9L Diesel. I seem to get stuck a bit because one rear wheel will spin while the other does not. Is there a way that I can lock the rear hub? A friend was telling me that he thought in these trucks it was as easy as adding a bolt to the current rear differential. Is that true? I think I would like to be able to lock it. Anyone have any thoughts on that? Is this something that maybe I don't want to have permanently done?

Never heard of the installing a bolt application but that dosn't mean it can't be done. But it sounds like he is telling you to fully lock the rear end spiders, which is really hard on tires and puts extra stress on axle and drive lines if running on pavement. If you are always in the dirt would not be a big issue thou. Maybe some one will chime in here and enlighten us both on the bolt part...
This truck is my farm truck. I use it to haul trailers on the road a bit. I'd just really like to be able to lock the rear diffs when I'm off road. What's the easiest way to make this happen?
