2. Water/methanol works great, BUT, piston to head clearance is only the thickness of the head gasket.
So if something happens and to much water goes in, hydrolock and broken engine parts is the result.

3. Could be either a 3.55 or a 4.10.
If you give me tire size, transmission, what gear you are in, engine RPM and a MPH number at that RPM I can tell you what it works out to.

Thanks

As for the gears I will let you know when I get the truck the first week of july.

7.3 IDI turbo

Hey guys, I asked about this truck before. Pretty well have it bought now. I noticed that it may be needing an oil cooler, has anyone done this job on same ('93 F350) and wonder what these coolers run in price and if there is much available aftermarket for this item?

Oil cooler O rings are an International or Ford only item.
You can get the gaskets at some auto parts houses, but I have never seen O rings at any of them.

Remove the bolts in the drivers side engine mount.
Piece of 2x4 under the oil pan, jack the engine up with the jack under the 2x4 as high as it will go without breaking anything.
Block the engine so it can not fall.
Remove the oil filter.
Drain the coolant.
Unbolt the oil cooler, you can twist and turn it and it will come out toward the rear.

Thanks, are the coolers themselves problematic or is it usually just "O" rings that go?

It might or might not hold, best thing is to get good solid units. They are not fun to install

The cylindrical item under the exhaust manifold with the 2 red ends is the oil cooler. Yes most of the time it's just bad o-rings sometimes the end casting will get eaten up and pitted making it difficult to seal.

Alright thanks for the help. Ill have to see if a shop can do it for me. Its incredibly easy to reach if you take the wheel off so they would be able to get a good weld in there.
