hey i have a 94 F-250 460 5 speed that i have been fixin up for a wile....she runs great and everything works but when i got the truck it had a bench seat wich i hate . 3 years ago i got a realy good set of bucket seats out of a 350 same year. that is in great shape. only issue was the new seats were gray and my interior is red. so anyway the other day i took a walk threw my father inlaws feild and there was this 93 150 with a perfect ....and i mean perfect gray interior. so i asked him about it and he said i could take the whole interior if i replace it with mine........SUPER SYKED!!!!!! so tonight i started to take the interior apart peice by piece . and i got to where i was takeing the dash out . and here is my qwestion does the dash come out of these trucks just the outer pannels themselfs or do i need to dig deaper into them to get it out ....all i care about is the outer stuff you see. but do i need to really tear this thing apart to get what im after? sorry for the long story im just like in heaven rite now !!!!
Y do you want to take the whole dash. the only thing that goes bad is the pad above the glove box. just take out the 5-6 scrrews that hold that. And just pain the had dash a vinal paint
cause all the dash im takeing out is like brand new and exact color maching all around the new trim pannels in the truck,,,,and my dash in my truck is all red
Thats cool. No offense to anyone that has one, but I hate the red or blue color interiors. I only like the black, gray, and tan etc. Its just more neutral and looks cleaner.
I would swap it out. It cant be that hard to take it out. I have had mine loose before to fix the broken tab that is common on these trucks.
I think to get it out you need to take out the srews up near the defroster vents and the bolt in the center brace down by the heater, the bolt by the passenger side kick panel and there are probalby about 3 more over on the driver side.
If you're really set on it, go pick up a haynes manual or something. I think it's 4 bolts along the top by the windshield and 3 large bolts down low, the tab on the passenger side, one under the glovebox and one up behind the dash pad.
It's a PITA, so bring a helper and be prepared to swear.
Personally, I loved the red interior in my 90. If my bench wasn't IMMACULATE, I'd consider swapping my gray for red.
thanks guys i did finaly get the dash out ,,,,found one spot that was broken where the screw holder ataches to the pannel at the dimmer switch....but the piece was still there so i think i can epoxy it back together ,,,,it was kind of a pain to get out but like i said in original post i got a set of grey bucket seats that were in sweet condition,,,,and the truck is black,,,,so it was lookin a little funny black with mostly red interior and grey seats lol.....so now i have started the process of takeing my red interior apart to get it ready for its nice new gray matching one!!!!!
