Fuel pressure question

I've seen it somewhere in one of the threads regarding fuel pressure. Can you adjust it on the stock lift pump? And if so how much pressure is ok to go up to ? Can there be an increase in overall power and throttle response from increasing the fuel pressure? If possible can someone tell me how to adjust it on the lift pump? Thanks guys.

No you can`t adjust the stock lift pump. From what I`ve read here it would be a bad idea anyway as the injector pump would not like it.

There is nothing on the lift pump to adjust, these only need 4 pounds pressure and at that they are returning part of the fuel.

Stock is around 7psi @ max RPM and the IP can only take up to about 9 or 10psi before damage occures to the seals. Some have said they noticed a slight increase in power after switching to an electric lift pump, but they may have had a very worn lift pump before.

Running higher fuel pressure into the injection pump changes the timing.
Higher pressure = advanced timing

Any power gain seen is probably from the advanced injection timing unless the stock lift pump was weak with either fuel amount delivery or pressure.
