Any Winnipegers here?

I'm coming to Winnipeg this weekend, and figured on my trip I would see if I could find some parts off an older Granada in some of your local auto wreckers.

Can someone recommend a good place to start, or even places that I should avoid?

Thanks

The only wrecker I've been to in Wpg is actually outside of Wpg. Actually, I don't even recall the name. it's on the north side of the no. 1 just west of the city. Sorry I couldn't be more help.....
Maybe less can help....

I haven't been to very many wrecking yards either...but Buck's has a Ford, Chrysler, Import yard at 1650 Springfield Rd. in Winnipeg.

You might try Springfield Rd. has a quite a few auto wreckers some of them general auto wreckers.

Some take the parts off, clean them up and package them, some are pick your own part.

Sometimes it can be an exercise in frustration. I recall looking for a part for an 11 year old Oldsmobile a couple of years ago...I hit 4 wreckers...came up with nothing.

I think it also depends on how old your Granada is..the wreckers where you do your own dismantling usually only handle wrecks that have come in over the past few weeks...before the cars are thoroughly picked over and then scrapped.

A car that is really old...say from the '70's or early '80's...the chances, in my experience aren't too good as there aren't too many at all...even driven on the road.

Therefore fewer wrecks...many of the older models disappeared from most wreckers years ago.

Sometimes the best way to get an older part is to get a wrecking yard to do a cross country search...but that could be expensive with shipping, etc..more so than pick your part.

Sorry, not very helpful .

Thanks for the help guys

The parts are from an older 70's Granada, and they are to get disc brakes and a 9" rear end for my 65 Mustang project.

The trip this weekend is for fun and thought an afternoon checking out a few different places would be a good time

Thanks again, I appreciate it!
