My truck currently has a C6 in it but originally came with a 4 speed which I prefer. The clutch pedal is still in the truck but everything else is gone or course. When I swap the manual back in, what clutch setup should I use. I'm open to suggestions. Thanks.
I'd definitely use a hydraulic setup. I'm told they are more simple to install and softer than mechanical. Plus hydraulics are generally a newer design. You also use the 11in. clutch as far as I understand and you'll need a flywheel instead of the flexplate of course. By the way are the transmission lengths the same, the four spped and the c-6 that is? If not that means lengthening/shortening the driveshaft(s), just a reminder. Good luck.
Lengths are not the same. The 435 is quite a bit shorter so I will have to have a new shaft made up as the original was cut down to accomodate the automatic. What type of hydraulic clutch? Aftermarket? From another vehicle. I apologize for my ignorance.
I am installing an np435 inplace of my E40D so I am getting a 351 bellhousing, np435 and the hydraulic clutch assembly (slave cylinder, master cylinder and the hose between) that came with the transmission. I don't know what year the setup is out of but I'd call a few wrecking yards, I am getting the whole package for $450 which seems like a fair price. In terms of aftermarket you can get something like the clutch itself from say Centerforce but the hydraulic assemblies have been from a dealer or wrecker. PS don't forget your flywheel instead of the flexplate.
