[updated:LAST EDITED ON 08-Jan-02 AT 08:19 PM (EST)]I'm looking to buy a 95 4x4 f150, 302, auto trans, 85k on it with the factory off road package. It shifts hard into second gear while giving it moderate gas. If i barely give it gas it wont shift hard. My buddy says alot of fords do this esp. '95's. I thought maybe it had some sort of a factory shift kit that made it shift hard into second cause of the off road package. Im just trying to find out if this is a serious problem or just a common ford thing. If anyone knows can you explain what causes this?

Justin, I have the same set-up that you do and it does the same thing! I think that's just the way it is from all that I have read about it. I've chanced fluids and filters to no avail. Just something you have to live with with the Ford!!:-) Rick
