CAM Phaser
I have an '04 F150 FX4 with the 5.4L. I read several posts about how the 5.4L can sound like a diesel and that its the CAM Phaser(s). My truck has about 52,000 miles on it and has made this sound for a long time. In one of those rare moments, I actually bought the extended warranty for the truck which will expire this October. Question: Is this something that they dealer should replace/repair under the warranty? Thanks.

I got mine replaced under warranty about three weeks ago! Mine had 64000 miles on it(05 SCREW 5.4). I took it into the dealer because I was getting close to the warranty ending plus I had a break from work so decided to take it in. They had me fixed and ready by noon the next day. I'd do it if I were you, otherwise, dealer told me it was a 1200 dollar fix.
