Battery Light
Hello everyone........the other day my battery light came on and would not go off till I ran the rpm up to nearly 2k. It does go off after that. The batteries are new from last fall. I checked all the connections to the alternator and the batteries and they are all tight. I am suspecting that it might be the alternator, but not totally sure. Any thoughts on this? I do have a meter to check things, but not really sure on where to start. The truck has been starting just fine too. Thanks for any and all help.

I wish I had caught your post sooner, I just wanted to reccomend going ahead and getting the top of the line alternator from NAPA. They have lifetime warranties and I can vouch for the fact that when you need to replace it, they refund the cost of the new one when you return the old one. Thats a pretty good deal if you ask me. I think they are like $230 a piece, but worth it after only one replacement. Have a good one.

I am pretty sure that I did not get that one........but that is okay. Hopefully I will get a few years out of the new one installed. I am assuming that the one that was in it was the original and I got nearly four years out of it myself.....so that is good.
