tailgate interchange

just wondering if a 79 tailgate will interchange with a 72. both stylesides.

it should ather then the body lines don't match , but would be functional

I agree with 89250, it will fit, body lines will be different.

C7TZ9940700A .. Tailgate replaced C4TZ9940700A

Fits: 1964/66 F100/250 2WD / 1966 F100 4WD / 1967/72 F100/350.

All the tailgate attaching parts (latches, hinges, etc) is the same 1964/72.

1973/79: The two supports are the same, everything else is different.

To use a 1973/79 tailgate (D3TZ9940700A) on a 1964/72 will require the correct attaching parts.
