I was originally going to install an aftermaket Amp and Oil gage but I came across this bezel on the web over the weekend. I knew they came out of the same line but where about in the F100 series did you see these F250, F350, F500 .... ?
I also took a closer look and I still see the crosses on the left and right side of each gage which makes me think this might have been a personal add on by PO. Any help would be great. For $20 including shipping I think this might look cowl in my '60 F100 ...
That was a do it yourself job.
There were OEM amp and oil gauges where the indicator lights are on the large trucks (700 and up I think was where they were available).
At the ends there were tachs, vacuum, and air pressure (for air brakes) gauges installed.
My '60 F100 has the same one, minus the holes where your gauges are located in the photo. It has two chromed crosses in their place. The big hole is the speedo, on the left side is fuel level and generator light, on the right is oil pressure light and temp gauge.
I just got a spare on ebay and made the two on the right side larger for 2 1/16" oil and water temp gauges, and on the right side I enlarged the hole to 3 3/8" for a tach. It'll probably look terrible but at least they'll all be in the same place and I won't have to mount any under the dash. The one I drilled didn't have the chrome crosses in it, just a recession where they were.
The same style instrument panel was used on the big cabover trucks sometime into the 1960s. If there's a big truck wrecking yard around, have a look. I found one at a swap meet a while back that had been salvaged from a Ford garbage truck.
