93 5.0 throwing belts?

my uncle just recently bought a 50's panel truck (im not sure of the year) with a 5.0 mustang engine in it out of a 93 mustang, it keeps throwing belts and rippin them off, he bought it off of a guy who did all of the engine swap and stuff, so hes not sure what to do

any ideas?

Something is out of alignment.. and it should be pretty obvious. Look down across the pulleys from the side of the vehicle or place a yard stick down there, all pulleys should be in the same plane and not cocked at an angle.

Also it could be a faulty tensioner. Insure the spring works freely as well as the bearing.

I agree. Also look at all the pulleys while it's running to make sure none of them wobble.
