Pulled a tree down today

Sorry no pics were taken. Standing dead tree as tall as the peak of his 2 story house 14-16" in diameter.

My dad calle me yesterday said he needed help taking down a tree. I thought he wanted to tie it off to my truck to help it drop away from the house. When i got to his house i realised it was the dead standing tree in the corner off the front yard 15' from the house. The only place to take it down in one piece was to park my truck in the street and pull it into another tree. After hooking a chain up as high as i could reach i put my truck in 2lo an started to tighten up the chain. I never even touched the accelerator! Just ideling foward I pulled the dead tree into some good sized limbs on the walnut tree and then the trunk broke above my chain. Everthink landed in a gap in the bushes crossing the sidewalk and a little in the street. And the best part I pulled the stumpout at the same time.

Not enough space to drop it in one piece.
Power lines to the west, cable and phone to the south,
house to the southeast not enough room to the east may hit house.
north was the only option with powerlines running north-south 20' west of the tree. The Walnut tree i pulled it into was northeast of the dead tree.
I have cut a few trees down but i avoid the leaning dead rotting ones as they do not listen as well as a healthy tree when you tell it where to fall.

It would have been a great weekend if it had landed on a prius! Had it landed on the owner of a prius it would have made my year
