Growling drivetrain
My '97 F-150 Lariat 4X4 seems to have a very pronounced "growl" upon deceleration. Goes down the highway like a dream, only makes the noise when slowing down. Seems to be driveshaft speed although I can't be 100% certain. The u-joints seem tight, but by looking at them they have been there for a while. Front end is all good. It has a 5.4, auto trans with electric shift transfer case, 224000 KM on it. I found one post here with similar symptom as mine, but was hoping someone with the same truck may have had the same problem as me. I'm on dial-up and I could be dead before I get through all the possible answers in these forums.
