Cracked Tranny Help!!!!!!!!

Cracked Tranny Help!!!!!!!!

I'm ready to blow this thing up. I got a 92 f350 w/351 had cracked exhaust manifold so decided to rid truck of emissions and run some headers. Last manifold bolt broke tried to get out broke ease out so had to pull head. In process of pulling intake manifold bolt broke on other head. So going to take heads to shop to get bolt out. While I had everything out replaced timing chain, cleaned and painted engine bay. Was cleaning gasket surface on block and noticed c6 is cracked. I have to replace rear main seal so going to pull motor since everything is stripped. Worried about tranny now. Is there a way to fix this crack? This damn truck is killing me should have just burned the damn thing up. Any advice would be great.

Forgot to add if this can't be fixed and I go for new tranny what is better the c6 or the e40d. And if I it is the e4od will it bolt up

In terms of strength and dependability, the C6 is better than an E4OD. In terms of having overdrive, the E4OD is is superior given that the C6 does not have overdrive. Swapping from the C6 to the E4OD would not be worth the money you save on fuel. You would need a working E4OD, a new ECU that runs the E4OD (and is compatible with the rest of your truck), shorter rear driveshaft (the E4OD is longer than the C6), and a shorter front driveshaft if it is a 4x4. Its not a swap worth doing.

I would go to the junkyard to look for another C6, they can be had pretty cheap.
