Thanks RENOB, I am going to have ICM checked first but I will bet that it is going to boil down to replacing the computer also.

I doubt it's the computer renob. I think Paul's right, you have a wiring problem between the computer and the distributor. The 213 and 538 codes indicate that the computer isn't always able to control the timing. It could also be a problem in the distributor itself.

I unplugged the harness from the computer and the ignition control module and metered the circuit. No shorts and no open condition. How can I check the distributor. I have already found a computer. I should have it in a couple days but I will just about try anything at this point.

The 538 code went away, I was not doing the test correctly. I was not doing the goose portion. All I am getting now is 173 and 213.

Found the problem! Bent exhaust valve. That's what I get for trusting someone else to check the compression!!!!!!

I'm still chasing mine I change distributor the pcm and the gray box that sits on my fender . I'm still getting a code 18 koer ( 92f150 5.0 ) I'm lost oh I also changed out the egr ,o2 sensor ,and the temperature sensor . A buddy told me that he changed his speed sensor and it fixed his so I did that I'll let you know tomorrow .
