49 latch springs, engine color, uploading pictures

I had to fix my door latches on my F-47. I needed springs for both the outside door handle as well as the interior handle. Jullie had posted that some original springs had been on Ebay for $40. Well Sacaremnto Vintage Ford have the springs for less than $5. The spring numbers are 06331-2 for the outside door handle and 06331-8 for the interior handle. Everything now works like butter! I tried to post pictures showing how they fit but the pictures didn't upload although I used the same procedure that I had used previously and that had worked. Anyone have any ideas how to do the upload?

Since the F-47 is Canadian built my engine is presently painted yellow. I was wondering if anyone knows if this is the original color or what should be the original color.

Thanks in advance to all!

The picture thing is AFU again. I've sent e-mails and I opened a trouble ticket two weeks ago and gotten no response.

The reason I posted teh sale on those springs was because they included the two short springs for the inner handle not just the coiled main lock springs. To my knowledge the short springs are not being reproduced. I tried to find them using your part numbers at the SVF site and they did not work with the search. If those are in factt ehshort springs for the interior handle that would be a great find - and a very well kept secret.

Here is a site for Canadian trucks I'm not sure if you know about but your engine color might be in there somewhere, or you can write and ask.

Julie,
I have tried the merury sight but no info on original engine color. I'll try the other site. The short spring for the inside handle 06331-8 says it is for 32-40 but it worked fine for me. I have pictures to show which side of the holding bracket (the low side) to insert the spring. had to undo the tabs but since I heated them it was no biggie. Locks up the driver side door just fine.

cheers,
kmule

Ok that's why it didn't come up when I did th eP/N search, I was in a later catalogue.

That is an outstanding find. I remember someone had found a sub that worked but I can't remember if it was you or not.

Engine colors are about as clear as mud. I will post the 4 web sites I have with engine colors and let you look. Seems like everytime I quote one of htose someone offers a different site that contradicts it. And your truck being Canadian makes the info even harder to nail down.

Here are some sites to look through maybe one will help:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...ine-color.html

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...cer-issue.html

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...aight-six.html

New Page 1

You'll notice the statement at the top of the last one about Candian Product being unknown.

Good luck with it. If yu find a good site, let me know and I'll save the link for the next time we want to know.

Julie,
Thanks for all your help. I think that in looking at all the sights, red would be the best choice and as you said in one of your posts, if someone has a problem with it, then prove it. My next project since I can now open and close doors is to do the 12 volt change. I am planning on doing my own wiring as I can get every circuit with a fuse/circuit breaker and cheaper than the wiring products I've seen on the web. I have your power points downloade and these will be a good place for me to start. I will have a 50 amp cb on the line from the bat to the starter solenoid and a 50 amp on the line from the alternator to the power supply bus. Since my other hobby is rebuilding old aircraft I will be using aircraft wiring since I have a lot of it. Most of it has a braided covering for grounding and wear.

cheers,
kmule

Sounds like you are on the right track. I've added a few drawings in the past couple months and they are in my #4 gallery titled Electrical......There are three missing because I can't download pictures at the moment....site is messed up. They are of the basic and "one wire alternator" engine set ups. If you need those - or any of the new ones, just hollar and I'll send them to you.
