Howdy,
I'm building an AOD transmission for my 1966 F100, which has a 240 6-cyl. The AOD is from a 1987 F150 with a 302. Any suggestions what I should use for a flex plate?
The AOD was mated to 87 300 sixes. Use a flywheel from that year. Ford calls auto flex plates flywheels BTW.
It will be a challenge to hook up the TV cable for the AOD, Pay close attention to the correct bracket set up and pressures. AODs will give up really quick if not set up correctly.
The flex plate I used for my 302 was from a 1981 crown vic. If you really want to tackle this project, PM me and I'll walk you through it or make you run...
