Flex fuel or not?

Flex fuel or not?

So I am getting some parts for my 03 ranger 3.0 tremor. I bought it used and all badges were removed so no help there.

Basically I am trying to see if it is flex fuel or not but I am having a little trouble. In the owners manual it says if the 8th digit in the VIN is K it is a flex fuel, however there is other documentation that says if the 8th is a V then it is flex fuel. Well I have the V and I am not sure whats up, any help out there?

My 1999 Ranger manual has a V for flex fuel. Did you try the VIN Decoder on this site?

I have never seen a "K" engine code for a Ranger. 2003 3.0 V6 should be a "U" for gas only and "V" for flex fuel.

The "K" engine is the Explorer version for flex fuel.

what about the stickers under the hood. Usually on one of those it will say.
