Factory Harness Cut
I have a 2007 Ranger Sport and my factory harness for the stereo was cut. It also has the "amplified sound" harness which is still intact though. Every site I've been to has the wrong colour code for my truck. There is either too many, not enough or I don't even have the colours they call for. The site installdr.com that I went to said that Ford uses three different wiring schemes and two of the exact same vehicle could have totally different wiring codes. Is this true? How do I find the right one for my vehicle?
And once I have the colour codes for the harness I plan to hardwire the stereo in but how do I install an aftermarket deck if the "amplified sound" harness is still intact?
Please help, I need some tunes!
Sometimes when I explain things I don't make sense so if this doesn't make sense I can try to explain it differently.
A.) Find a dealer (even one of the forum sponsors) and give them your vin (or yr/model) and let them order a pigtail kit for it. They usually arn't all that expensive.
B.) Purchase a Metra 71-1771 harness kit. It did not note a "specialized" connector for the '07-
Either of those two should get you where you want to be.
I can't find a free tech sheet for your model, but see if this gets you close.
