Question 83 ranger question

okay, so i got an 83 ranger, 2wd, 4spd, 2.0L, power brakes. my idea for the truck was to pull the body off (rotten) and retrofit some other body on it. it's probably going to have a 302 and a t18 w/a dana 20 t-case. my question has to do w/the 4x4 conversion. i have an 87 bii that has electrical problems that i'll be stealing the 4x4 stuff from... will the ttb system just bolt in place of the 2wd ttb's? or will i be better off just retrofitting a d44hp and a 9" under the truck?

Too much jargon, you lost me at ttb system. I doubt any 2WD conversion to 4WD will be a "just bolt in place" scenario.

Unless you have lots of patience and money, the best bet is to sell both those rigs. Use the proceeds to buy a 83-92 4x4 Ranger and then drop your 302 in.........If you do not go overboard with hard 4 wheeling, the Dana28/30 and 7.5 or 8.8 will hold up to DD and light wheeling just fine.........I hope you have a C4/C6 or a T-5 to back that 302 up with, the 302 will destroy the Ranger trans. manual and auto alike.
