Am I the only one with a Problem Child?
I fix one thing only to have something else malfunction/break.
I just can't keep up with it.
hush now, we have no idea what feeble little dodge or chevy minds may troll around this site lol.
they are good old trucks, but remember, they are old (no offense my elderly FTE friends). i love my old truck every day i get to drive it. love it while it lasts, curse it in the shop and talk about how you wish the last wreck had totalled it, or how the last driveshaft shoulda burned it on the way out. its a rollercoaster ride.
My '93 gaser 302 was rusty, but I hardly ever had to repair it in the 5 years I owned it. I'm starting to miss it.
May have to find another one to drive to work and keep the PSD as camper hauler and weekend drives.
The engine isn't really a big issue, all the repairs to it was from previous neglect.
Everything else is Body/Frame/Chassis/Suspension/Steering.
Cracked mirrors from ice storm over winter, cracked windshield from passing semi on newly rocked road, it's just one thing after another. All are not Ford related.
Just can't catch a break from fixing something.
BUT, you will always see more Chevy/Dodge for sale then Ford. Supposedly they produce more, don't know.
look around. around here all utility, service, and fleet trucks are FORD FORD FORD. more truck for the money. its not that more were made imo, probably just more still at work, less fords are used for cars, cause they are built like trucks.
Don't get me wrong I love my Fords. That's all I have ever owned.
150's - 86, 89, 91, 93, 95
Rangers- 87, 94 (Really miss the 94).
Expedition - 01
Bronco 2 - 88
I know how you feel jle70, been there with my old chevy blazer, lol. yes i know its a chevy, but i spent alot of time fixing it because the previous owner didnt know the meaning of maintence. every thing from a headgasket to the t-case craking completely in half to a full engine rebuild. Even after all the repairs i love that truck and still have it, it has now become the off-road toy and my ford is the new tow vehicle/work truck/new toy to modify.

I can honestly say I do not know how you feel regarding your PSD. I have had very little trouble with it. My only complaint is when something breaks, it is usually in the 500.00 range. My truck has over 220,000 miles on it.
Since I got my 97 last September I have gone through as much as I could. I should download a list. I know your pain. It is allot of work getting a 12 year old ( or older ) rig up to speed. But I enjoy it as a hobby and a learning experience. Get the family involved. Spend way to much money on it. The stuff I've found worn out or just plain screwed up by the PO is mind boggling for a truck with only 73k on it. Hang in there.
I know what you mean rebuilt a 75 F-100 that had been sitting for 15 years and all the seals were leaking have been slowly throwing money and time at it for three years, two engines and transmission later it kinda of works, i have had no problems with my 95 psd though
