I'm in Upgrade Mode

I couldn't wait for the weekend, so tonight after work I installed the Hellwig. I didn't mark the exact time that I started, but I think it took me about 2.5 hours. Would have taken less time if I had gotten all of my tools together before I started.

All in all, it's not a hard upgrade, just a bit of a pain. Some the working conditions are tight and akward... but that's the norm for these things.

I took it for a test drive around the neighborhood afterwards and I can feel a differece. A lot less body roll. This weekend I'll take out on a short road trip for a better test at higher speeds.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the difference when towing.

While I was at, I installed the C-Betr mirrors I ordered - I like'em , no more blind spots at all.

Now it's time to get in to 'Maintenance Mode' - I need to change the oil, tranny fluid, rear diff, plugs and surpetine belt... then I'm ready for the 1200 mile trip back to NC and then on to Gatlinburg! Round trip will be about 4k miles, so I want to be ready.

sounds good man. i do notice alot more body sway/role with my Ex than i do with my F250, BUT i've been used to driving a Z71 and my jacked up F250 (9" lift) so the F250 has little to no role, and the Z was a short bed, and light weight truck...........

me and the wife agree'd (well she put the limit on the lift, lol) that IF i'm going to lift it, no more than 4". i need to keep SOME family aspects of this truk/UV

are you referring to an add-a-leaf kit by hellwig?

No I installed the Hellwig antisway. I already had the Rodmaster Active Suspension - better than an add-a-leaf.

on my 03 the hellwig did wonders !!! on the 05, not so much --- but suspect improper installation by the shop... the old bait and switch was played.... quoted me $50 to put it on and halway through it they said no - gonna be $100 ...

not the $'s but "irked" me off - told em to stop & give it back.... they decided to finish it ...

I also put on the Hellwig and loved it on my 02, stopped alot of sway when pulling the TT. I was in a mod mood too and put on the Mag-hytec rear diff cover(my original was rusting) and filled it with some Royal Purple gear oil. That thing looks good!
