yeah i was thinkin about ditchin the ugly wood in my 91 for black...when i paint the rest of the truck black...after the tons of body work lol....looks sweet with the diamond plate switch pannel
I am working on painting my wood colored trim to match exterior. No more 70's grocery getter simulated wood grain for me!
I haven't done anything to mine yet, but I'm thinking of either going with a John Deere theme or a Firefighter theme for the whole truck. I definitely like the Herculiner idea, gonna take a long look at doing that.
thats is officially next on the list....awesome idea...especially since that truck will be a hunting/mudding/workin truck...find a waterproof seat cover and shes a hose out interior! i like it man...i think id just do the floor though i already have a medal roof and it matches everything else

Mine is a work truck, and this works well for me, there are some disadvantages. There is a bit more road and engine noise due to the lack of insulation. You can also feel some heat from the transmission, but it's not bad. The worst part was the smell, which stuck around for a few weeks but seems to be gone now. It was an easy project, I've seen it done in jeeps and first gen broncos as well.
here is my 93, mostly just painted the trim pieces. i really like the flow of the 92-96 interiors but couldnt take all the porno red ha. i have some other things done but nothing special, more so to make it more comfy to drive.
center console thing:
painted parts:
96+ dome light:
door panels (work in progress):
on my 88 i just cleaned it up and added a console thing, added a 94 bench seat, 94 sunvisors. i also pulled a headliner and such to install later.
both trucks run Alpine headunits, Infinity speakers, US acoustic amps for the speakers. the 93 also has a Rockford Fosgate amp and Infinity kappa perfect sub.
I used mine all winter as a firewood hauler... but I'm also the kind of guy who prefers driving with the window down to having to use the defroster. And even though we had a winter ten degrees colder on average than last year, with lots of wind, I managed to keep myself in shorts all year. I'm pretty warm blooded.

i know it...we hit below -45 F or C...they are equal at -45 and i was drivin around town with the window half down...i bet that heater still coulda kept up with it...good ole fords...
Yep, when they work, these heaters make it toasty.
haha you wouldnt believe how many times i was the only guy who made it to school in his truck this last winter...there were a few other old trucks like mine (mostly fords) that made it but most of the people in my school are rich so they got lifted chevys or dodges as soon as the truck hit production and guess who was walking to school when it got below -25 C...unless they thought about plugging them in if they even can...i never plugged mine in once all winter and it was -50 C a few times the truck sat overnight to the point that i had a hard time moving the shifter cause it was a block of ice...but she started first time everytime and stayed running...let it warm up for 15 mins, then make it a block and im sweating

Going to have to agree with you here on this one. That's my favorite thing about my old truck: It starts every single time (unless I leave the lights on...) One time the throttle froze in the morning, but that's about it. Sure, the transmission might fall out on the way there, but at least it starts...
Yeah, many a morning I've put my truck in low range to break free of the ice, but she's rarely failed me. It was when it started warming up out that my 202k mile truck decided to not start every time, but even then, if I let it sit for a few hours, or shot it with ether, it fired right up.
All these Subies running around in the snow, with drivers who think AWD is a substitute for common sense, that's what'll be the death of me and my old Ford...

if that aint the truth...how many accidents i nearly avoided this winter cause people think that AWD logo on their new yota makes them invincible...and the funny thing is half of those people have absolutely no clue how to drive let alone drive on ice so when their AWD system becomes useless on ice they decide the best idea is to floor it...which usually leaves them spinning in the middle of the intescetion about to get t-boned ...happened to me one day i was driving our shop truck (95 f350 crew cab w/ a utility/ tool box instead of a bed) and someone decides to gun it from a dead stop to try and make it through an icy intersection...misses getting nailed by and oncoming coca cola tractor trailer by about 6 inches and then me in the opposite direction by less...that would have been a nasty one if that rig would have caught his rear bumper .... people like that make you want to hit the gas instead of the brakes...but i didnt bother with the brakes would have made it worse before it made things better...on ice anyway
