You have to get the FM thing. Just get the kind that plugs into the lighter or the batteries go dead real fast. That way you can take it from car to car.

My Lincoln MKX has the SYNC system from Ford and it has a USB plug in the center console. THen it's all voice activated. You just tell it to play Elton John or a certain track and it does it all by itself. You can voice dial your cell phone via the Bluetooth. Really slick!

If you have the rear DVD system, you can get an adapter cable with Mini stereo(headphone 1/8" stereo) to RCA (red/white). out of any player(MP3, IPOD, ZUNE, old portable CD player) into the inputs on the DVD player.

I used the inline FM modulator from Crutchfields.

Scosche FM-MOD02 Play your iPod®, satellite radio, or portable music player through any car's FM radio at Crutchfield.com

It works great. No static, good signal, all the time.

Zero - should be able to do that or how about a splitter to use both ?
I did the Mini-plug to dual rca from my garmin gps into my rear dvd aux inputs...
works like a champ !!! AND pauses the mucis / audiobooks playing out of the gps when giving turn info...

in all my years have NEVER got any version of the fm to work...
the fcc limits the power and so either too many fm stations around (like here in dfw) or too powerful stations or bad equipment doesn't allow it to work...

always found hard wiring the best method...
