Thanks for all the compliments guys, its almost time for new tires and was thinking lowering it would help with cost of that, if I keep 38s on it I think I want a bigger rim...
3rd engine, its taking a lot to get this thing to the HP level I want it at.
A friend of mine just lowered his F250 to a 4" lift and 35's, he did have 10" lift and 39.5's. His truck is useful now and still looks great, I say lower it.

I'm with Glenn. Leveling kit or the 4". A truck as big as yours isn't very useful to me. It might pull a boat, snowmobiles, or jetskis with an insane drop hitch but that's about it. Loading something into the bed has to be rediculous with it that high.
DO NOT get a bigger rim. It won't look near as good with no sidewall. A 20" rim and 35's is a good combo if you're running a leveling kit. The 35's will fill the wheelwells but you won't have too much tire for the truck height. With a 4" I personally think the 18's wrapped in 35's give a good look. You still have some sidewall on the tire to use with the lift, it's not too goddy, and gives it a good stance. Plus, it's very useful and the tires won't cost as much.
If you're worried about times on the track but like it how it is now, then regear it to compensate. You know that after you lower it, it still won't be as fast as you'd hoped so they you'll end up regearing it anyway.
Don't do the smooth rollpan. Those look silly. If you were running a strictly drag truck, then ya, but you're not. I like the cowl hood idea.

I'm with Ryan. I buy a truck to use it, not to have it look pretty. Huge wheels and big lifts are flat not practical for what I need a truck for. You said yourself that this is a pavement queen though, so if all you want it to do is go fast and look pretty I'd say leave the lift alone and buy some new gears to help push those tires.
Gotta agree with Glenn, Ryan and Chase. I have a 6" lift with 18"rims and 35s. I like the look myself, but most complain my tires are/look too small. I bought my truck to not only look good, but most importantly, actually USE. My 6" lift is almost impractical as it is. 38s are out of the question for me. It is bad enough right now that all my trailers require massive drop hitches, but loading a quad with 6 foot ramps on level ground is downright scary! Loading and unloading crap from the bed is quite the hassle too, and has made me consider upgrading to the new style tailgate with steps. (which would just be cool anyways) If you are used to your ride height, and don't really use the truck except to pick up chicks, leave 'er be. Looks great. If you need some practicality, drop er down to a 4" maybe 6" lift if you don't mind the hassles I listed. Definately get a hood, cause they are badass additions. You will like the bed cover too.
