I am thinking about getting new front leaf springs and I figured if I was going to do that I may as well level my truck. what is a good place to purchase new springs either stock or a leveling kit? Also, I just bought new bilstein shocks for a stock truck and was wondering if they would still work if I level my truck?
Why would you need new springs?are they worn out or uneven? The reason i ask is i just did mine on Sunday and the leveling kit i got required that i use the factory springs.
I would start by looking into factory X code springs. Many here have said that they can give up to 1.5" lift, which may be very close to level for you.
For leveling kits, my preference is either new springs (best option) or a kit that includes both rear shackles AND front hangers for the front springs. I have a ProComp kit that includes both, its very well built (but not installed yet ) ProComp also has an all-spring kit as well. Donohoe has some kits, but they are spendy. Less expensive all spring kits like Rough Country and Tough Country are probably good kits, but ride quality can suffer.
Your stock length shocks will work okay, but just barely.
Thanks guys this helps. The reason I think I need new springs is because when I put new shocks on It looks the shocks are compressed to much. Also the springs are basically flat. So I think they are sagging. Also my tire rubs really bad on the drivers side when I turn with 285/75/R16. I will try to get pictures of them up so you can see for yourself. Is there anything I can do to tell if they are sagging?
I installed new front springs 4 months ago because they couldn't find the plastic shim that sits between them but the new ones look flat to me.maybe someone could measure there truck for you and see if its the same hight?

If you ordered a new spring pack from Ford, it should have the plastic isolators already in there. I recently replaced my front springs (I snapped a leaf while off-roading). Once lowered and the front end has full weight on it, the spring pack sits level (if not a little bowed up) even for the new ones. My front end was about an inch higher than the old ones (they were 7 years and 175K miles old), but I haven't measured lately.
I did a straight replacement with new V code springs that came with my truck (V code is rated for 5200lbs). I thought about the X code and raising the front an inch or so, but after all the reading I did, I thought that the truck would be too rough in front (X code are stock for the snow plow package).
My X-codes only raised the front of my truck about 1/2". My originals were sagging to much when I hooked up my plow. No problems now with the X-codes.
