86 6.9 lift pump problem
hello, i went to the ford dealer and ordered a new lift pump and when i pulled the old pump out it is bent at a 45 degree angle and the one i got from ford dealer looks strait on the part that goes in the block, is there two dif. pumps, and do i need to take it back and get the bent type. thanks for any help on this one.

The new pump you got is OK. There should be detailed fitting instructions with it which you must follow exactly. It is a real PITA to fit. If you scroll thru a few threads here you should come to a recent one by joe f350 on fitting one of these pumps, I think it took him a day.

thanks,i will see if i can see up in there with a mirror and get that lever under the push rod this weekend, thanks agin, that original pump sure does look way different.
