I'm trying to decide wether or not I made a good deal I recently bought a 1993 F-250 it has the Bankssidewinder wastegated turbo and a 4" exhaust straight piped. I paid 6,000K and it had 70K on it I recently saw I 1995 Powerstroke for $11,500 with 61,000K miles on it I've spent 2k in wheels and tires that I would have spent on either vehicle but I'm trying to figure if a can build my IDI up to powerstroke potiental for the the difference about $5000 and where should I go from here
Well, you already have the turbo, so you're pretty close now to non-chipped 'strokers. What's the rear gear ratio on that truck? Is the pump turned up?
6k is alittle steep for a 2x4 for me...unless it was rust free.
Pics please
It's in absolutley perfect condition in fact I had to depimp my ride it had the matching camper shell carpet kit (pinstriping wich I would like to remove) Moonvisor which I have removed stainless steel running boards grill guard and dual spotlights in the towers of course oh and did I forget to mention the CB radio and by the way it is a 4x4 but it was set up for the AAA club and you could really pick up some chicks at the senior citizens center with it, all kidding aside its in awsome condition and thats why I bought it it really doesnt run to bad now but I just need to get a boost guage and turn up the IP and boost probably I think it was set at 10 PSI just ondering if theres some injectors out there that could make a big difference.
Yeah I've heard from varying sources that I may be able to go up to 15PSI but if I went any higher I would need head studs. It does already have the pyrometer and from what I can tell I think I should be able to turn the IP up a little the 10psi I'm just guessing at because thats what the Banks owners manual that came with my truck says its set at so who knows? How much horse power do you think I'll gain by turning up the Boost and IP? will I notice it towing or just at higher speeds.
