Hey I know you can pull codes on our trucks by useing the key truick
But I will be danged if I can rember how I know ya have to turn the key fast so many timmes and than back to run but I cant rember how or what way to turn the key(CRS and the older I get the worest it gets Mmm now what was I talking about OH YEAH) thanks people Phil
Yeah that's a dodge thing. Find the STI wire in the EEC test harness(single wire with grey connector) and ground it, turn the key to run and the codes should flash on the check engine light.
You will have to plug in a test lamp, or multimeter, to read the code flashes.
The Emissions lamp in the dash is not connnected to the STO (Self Test Output) on our 1980-1986 model trucks. Infact the Emissions lamp is useless because it's hooked up to a timer that has to be reset every 60,000 miles or so, if you have a problem or not.
