Decisions for a C6...
I have a 1994 Ford F-250 4X4 with a big block & a C6. I purchased it with 113,000 miles on it & it currently has 117,000 miles on the clock. The previous owner didn't take very good care of this truck so slowly but surely I've been going through everything & I'm not sure if the transmission fluid has been flushed before. The fluid itself is clean, it doesn't have a burnt smell nor does it feel gritty. I do want to change it but not sure which kind of transmission fluid to use. I have used Amsoil in the past & have had good luck with it but I haven't used it in a C6 before. I want to stay away from Schaeffer's because I've heard horror stories about the moly clogging engines & transmissions. I have also heard of fully synthetic transmission fluid being too "slippery" for a C6. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for your time.
