For about the past two weeks my truck seems not to wanna go move than 30mph i have to put the pedal all the way to the floor just to go 30..i dont really feel it slipping much and i had my tranny rebuilt two years ago,and i just tuned up the truck myself.also my truck does not want even to go up hills at all just about makes it up them.anyone know what this may sound like at all?..thanks

When it revs up, is it downshifting and then reving or does it rev a lot faster than is normal for the speed and gear you are in? the key is what gear is it in and are the revs normal for that gear and speed? for example my truck will rev about 2,000RPM in OD at 60mph, it will rev over 4,000RPM in 2nd at that speed. The 4000 RPM is normal for that gear, but not good of course. If the engine reved to 3,000 in OD at 60 then I would suspect the tranny or torque converter.
I have had the experience where a car would downshift and rev like crazy to maintain freeway speed but have no power. I thought the tranny was slipping until I realized the car had shifted to 2nd and was reving normal speed for that gear and speed, but not having power. The fix was a very dirty fuel filter.
I have also had trannies that reved like crazy in high gear. That was bad and usually meant the tranny was toast.
Other possible causes for no power, high normal revs in a downshift could be misfiring, clogged injectors, clogged exhaust, timing.
Other possible causes for high rev in normal gear, tranny, torque converter, maybe slipping differential.
Keep in mind I am not a tranny expert, just been there done that a few times.
thanks guys think i will taake it for a ride around the block and give ya some more info.ill check the spark plug wires and see if there all in the right spot.im sure the fuel filter could stand to be replaced too.
