on my honda dirt bike it calls for 8ftlbs all of the time.. my dad always told me that 8ft lbs should be as tight as you can get it with a nutdriver.. ( screwdriver with a socket on the end of it)

That's what I said. Finger Tight ............ My fingers, other's may vary.

I was going to recommend an inch pound torque wrench from harbor freight but the low range minimum was 20 inch pounds. I would say gentley snug it with an 8" 3/8 ratchet wrench because my fingers are not as strong as stosh's!

never mind
but it aint small lots of little meatl peices in the pan
(found what we fig out to be is one of the #3 or 4 or 5 needle bearings may have been in the wrong place or in backwards).so motor and trans is ready to be pulled again
will let ya know when I see what went so wrong with the rebuild
but for tonight its going to be a fight of EVIL WILLIAMS
the tv and a half nakey wife

Thanks guys but doesnt matter now droped the tranny pan and it wasnt good I was hoping it was in the torg on the vb or something small
but it aint small lots of little meatl peices in the pan(found what we fig out to be is one of the #3 or 4 or 5 needle bearings may have been in the wrong place or in backwards)
