Tailgate Assembly (washers)
As a seperate question, just an after thought and I haven't searched the forum for this yet, is does anyone have a reasonable priced source for a drop in bed liner? I just wire brushed out the bed and painted it with brown Hamerite to slow down the rust. The color looks good and I'd like to protect it without spending too much money.
Thanks, Gene

>According to the tailgate hardware illustration in the 64/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog, there are four bolts with integral washers used to attach the hinges to the body, two per side.
4) 372421S39 .. Bolt & Washer Assy-Hex Head / 3/8" -24 x 1"
I see no other washers anywhere.
All the hardware (hinges, scissored brackets, latches, rubber bumpers, etc.) is the same: 1964/66 F100/250 2WD Styleside, 1967/72 F100/350 Styleside.
While the styling of the 1964/66 vs 1967/72 tailgate is slighty different, both fit 1964/72's.
In 1967, Ford originally had two plastic bushings used as combo anti-rattlers/spacers. One on either side of the tailgate where the hinge cups fit into.
In 1968 Ford obsoleted the spacers, the parts catalog says "improvise from foam rubber."
I was at a Ralph's supermarket t'other day, saw a swimming pool kids play toy, prolly used to "bop" kids over the head with.
It's a 5 foot long piece of round foam rubber with a hole thru the center.
I'll betcha you could get one a these, cut off a coupla inches and use them on the tailgate.
