Finally got to go out and really test the motor for what it was built for. It ran great, I had no issues with it, even after 4 runs back to back it never got hotter then 165*. The dizzy got wet in my last run in the vid. YouTube - Testing out the 532 BBF in the mud
No mufflers yet?
Any plans on spraying it?
I heard it shift once or twice. Consider a manual valve body?
Sounds nice real nice. Mud there was a little deceptive. Did not look like much but it was worse than meets the eye.
I really dig the Sammi. That little thing has some pop!
nah, I ain'y gonna run mufflers, it doesnt see street anyhow.
I was planning to do a manual vb and trans brake with the motor, but the engine build went way over budget so I'll have to suffer with it for now I guess LOL
Yeah that pit got worse the more we went through it, and once those 44s got stuck, it made it real tough to get out HAHA
My father in law runs the sammy, it has a Mazda RX7 12A rotary motor in it, so he hits 11000rpm regularly
The manual valve body is a giant plus and will eliminate the unwanted shifts.
You will be really stepping into somew cash once you get into a trans brake. THe converter will have to be changed to accomodate the brake.
Fun stuff though.
I have quite a history with Samuris. I love those little things........
Yeah I have found a few parts that I want to put into the tranny, I already have the torque setup for a trans brake, and a billet input shaft installed. Now I just gotta find the funds to do the rest. If I have a good season and win abit of cash it'll go into the tranny fund HAHA. The motor runs great but I do feel like the tranny is really holding it back from its full potential. I was hoping to really give the competition a whippin this year, but without the right parts in the trans, I'll just hope to not blow it up before the end of the season LOL.
Those are words from tons of experience. You know what you are getting into, and best of luck with the trans fund.
Hopefully your current unit will hold, up. The C6 is pretty tough, but you are making some real power now, so keep the trans cool and your fingers crossed.
Fortunately with a loose converter, the shock loads are reasonably low, but the added slip adds some heat, and the potential there is incredible.
Torque multiplication is getting into huge numbers, and this is where it starts getting fun.
Truck is looking great man, sounds good, keep on wrenching......
Thanks. This tranny was rebuilt 2 years ago, so its not that old but it hasnt had it easy either. It seems to stay fairly cool, even after those runs I did, it never really heated up at all. So it may be alright for this season, but I've blown them up before when it didnt show any signs of getting too hot LOL.
I was looking into getting the trans fully rollerized, would help to get more power to the ground, plus with a manual vb and t brake, it could become a wild ride!!
