What does the numbers mean?
I have a 1983 F-150 V6, 3 speed on the column. The numbers on the tranny reads as follows:
RATLA CD29
E2TRSA 1493
I'm in need of a transmission I think. It slips when I shift into 3rd and doesn't want to shift easily. It want pull good and I just noticed a leak from the tranny. What could the problem be and how much will it cost me? Could it be something easy to fix? So if you have any suggestions it will be greatly appreciated. By the way I checked the lube in the tranny and its full so its not low on lube. I also need a good source for parts. I need a complete gasket set for my truck also. I'm getting small leaks here and there and I feel like I should take her off the road for a while and do some needed work on her. Thanks B.Murphy
