aod question

Wanting to put a aod in my 73 ford f100 has 302 are the 87to 89transmissions electronic shift if so what years would i need to get away from electronics.

'88 to '93 are the best years. AODs were not electronic. AOD-e and 4R70W were similar, but intro'd later.
