Please help identify this transmission
We have an 82 Bronco with a 300-6 engine with a four speed overdrive transmission. I cannot figure out which one it is. The chiltons manual describes at least two different ones but neither seems to fit the description. There are also no pictures as well. The only way I can describe it is that the casing is aluminum and reverse is up and to the right. But you have to push down on the shifter to get it into reverse. I am going to try and get some numbers off of the case to for some more help as well as pick up a haynes manual also since the chiltons has not been useful at all. Thanks if you can help me figure out what transmission this is. It may need to be rebuilt unless someone knows why it seems to be making grinding noises in all gears except overdrive. The fluid level is ok. Thanks for any info.
