High idle

I have 2001 cc 4x4 and it idles high 1100-1200 rpms in park and 850-900 rpm in drive tach will go to 2000 rpm at start up and come down really slow and hold at the higher idle so what controls the idle coming down?

The IAC (Idle Air Control motor) - or you have a vacuum leak.

We found no vacuum leaks. If the IAC was bad then it would not idle.The shop cant find the problem no codes thrown.This only happens during hot and cold starts

If the IAC is stuck, it may idle high, if it's stuck open.

Mine idles high when I first start it, like 1200 rpms but then calms down after driving a few miles.
