Rebuilt turbo gone wrong...
I drive a 2000 7.3, DP TUNER, AIR RAID intake, 4" turboback exh., ITP boost innihilator,ext. cab long bed on 38's and blew up my turbo. Ok cool replaced my turbo with a stock housing and a WW. Also upgraded to the ITP uppipes. Drove it approximately 400 miles on it, got home one afternoon and noticed white smoke billowing out of my exhaust pipe as I was parking at home. I shut the truck off and also noticed about 3 quarts of oil leaking out of the bottom of the pass. side of the block. Exhaust back pressure solenoid took a dump, had that replaced today and...All hell broke loose. I picked it up from the shop this afternoon and I noticed that when I got on the gas and the turbo just didn't sound right. Seemed to sound like the fins were rubbing on the inside of the housing. Hopped on the freeway gave her hell to test her out and at first there was black smoke ( thanks Jody ) and then it started to DUMP white smoke out of the exhaust pipe. Turbo noise was sounding like a bag of marbles was let loose inside the turbo housing.
What is wrong? Anyone have similar problems? Contemplating a classy ol FOR SALE sign. Thanks for any input.

Better pull the intake tube and check the impeller for movement. Also look for contact between the impeller and the housing. If that checks OK, the you may have blown a seal, which would be a fairly cheap fix.
