Unhappy 2006 FX4 6.0l engine question

I recently returned from a camping trip where I pulled an 11,000lbs fifth wheel through the Sierra Nevada mountains. Shortly thereafter, I noticed a high pitch whistle coming from the engine. The truck ran fine for two days. This morning, when I went to start it up, the engine was coughing and sputtering. I didn't notice any exhaust difference (blue or black smoke). When I attempted to drive it, I literally had no horsepower. I smashed my foot the floor and it took nearly 30 seconds to get up to speed.

Question: Is the whistling sound I heard earlier in the week, associated with a turbo failure? Did it finally go when I started it up this morning?

I have scheduled an appt. with my local Ford dealership for Monday. Truck only has 36K on it.

Sounds like you have either one of the following:
1. split CAC boot
2. split intercooler
3. split CAC tube
4. broken/loose CAC tube clamps

I'm sure I've missed something but that's where I'd start.

Dealership will get you taken care of. Sorry about your bad luck on your vacation though.

Also for future reference. Don't mash the pedal when she's not warmed up. She doesn't like that.
