I will be getting ready soon to having an exhaust system installed. I bought a Super 44 a month ago in prepartion for this, but I am beginning to have second thoughts on the muffler. I have run this muffler before, but in a true dual set-up, and I wasnt a big fan of the tone. I really like the deep roar of the Original 40 Flowmaster, but it's by far one the worse flowing muffler they offer. I know a lot of you hate flowmaster, but I will getting one, but I was wondering if any of you have had experience with the "Delta" Flow 40 series. Apparently this muffler is suppose to be a higher flowing original 40 muffler. I think if I ran this I would get my sound I'm after, with some better flow than the original 40. My only fear is it may not be loud enough. I have thought about running the 50 Series HD, which has a 4 inch internals, which might be key for letting a 460 scavenge, but again I see this killing the noise Im after
i have delta flow 40's on my wifes mustang with an off road h-pipe (no cats).
i am extremely pleased with the sound and performance. the inside noise is not bad at all, considering its her daily driver and its a convertible and she is able to talk on her phone without shouting.
as far as power and mileage, i noticed the car is able to be "lugged" much lower in the RPM's without bucking. the rest of the powerband i think you would need a real dyno to tell, my butt dyno couldnt tell you otherwise. mileage stayed about the same, based on what she tells me.
