I'm sure its been mention a time or two; but will a 64 big truck cab, don't know the size, but has the battery box in floor of cab, flat bed & dual rear axle, fit on a F100 64 chassis as a direct bolt on?
I got the radiator support and its measures the same as my F100 support, but my cab is in dire need of major overhualing and I've found one in better initial inspection than mine.
Thanks;
Yes it will fit. If you have to a carpet or a rubber mat for the floor, remember to buy it for the F-350 cab because that cab will have a taller transmission hump. Pretty much everything else will work.
Thanks Rick; didn't even cross my mind about trans hump.
It will be easier and less welding ( my welding skills are poor) to swap cab's than to try and remove all the rusted metal on my current cab.
My 64 was real bad off a few years ago (no floor pans available then) and I was dreading the work I had before me. I was on a trip in Texas, around Abilene, stopped at the FM 600 auto salvage. He had a 64 cab with doors and absolutely no rust anywhere. I hated to , but I asked how much if I take it off? He said they would have to take it off for me and I could see the $$$ going up. So I bit and asked again how much? He said $135.00, so guess where it sits now. My mama didn't raise no fools after she passed my brother.
I hope your brother isn't a FTE Member!.
The other option I have is purchase new parts from you, which is a good thing, but if I can swing this cab for roughly same price you mention about your ordeal. It would be a ton of easy verse's welding 101. I've done floor board panels on my 78 model and doing cab mount and inner door step supports is alittle above my skill level.
