I have a 2000 f-150. What do you guys & gals think about camper shells on these trucks? how they look? I have a chance to get one for free,Suppose to be just for these model trucks. And it is the same colour as the truck.
for free why not and the right color to boot, ive been looking for that combo for awhile.....take it , if you dont like it sell it for a couple hundy!!
I have the "cap" on mine, although I am not sure if it is what you are referring to as a camper shell. Mine is just a cap that makes it almost look like an expy. I love the thing. I throw my boys back there on long trips and can barely hear them fight! Turn the music up a tad and they fade completely away. Ahhhhhhhh.

Now that sounds like an excellent idea With one exception, I'm going to add the wife. No more side seat driving.
Camper shells are indeed great things if you dont plan to haul large amounts of stuff(Dirt,Sand,Mulch etc). Most places you would get these items in bulk will use a Bobcat to load it,and the Camper Shell wont help the process. As you can probably deduce Ive been in this situation before......
Anyway, MY 97 came with a "bed cap" that looked great, but was heavy as Hell, and I finally gave IT away just go get outta my garage,
I figure if your not planning to have any heavy(Large) loads put in it,you have a great deal shaking. Typically the Camper Shells that are Aluminum arent that heavy anyway, and can easily be removed,,,,NOT like the Fiberglass bed cap I had.....
I agree with n5926g, I have a 2000 F150 with a fiberglass topper and it is great, but when I want to haul the 4 wheeler or go wood cutting it is heavy as he** to get off and takes up alot of room in the garage. As said before for the great price of 0 dollars try it out if you dont like it sell it for what ever you can get.
