FX4 Trip Computer
Greetings,
Can you get the MPG estimation, trip computer, etc when you buy the FX4 luxury package? I tried to search and didnt find anything (that doesnt mean it isnt there.. lol)

Yes. You get the trip computer, average mpg, etc, but not the instantaneous mpg. The inst. mpg is rumored to be fairly useless though.
I am not aware of any other message center features that the FX4 lacks that the lariat, plat, and KR have.

Worthless is more like it. It is just a series of bars that get taller, just like on the cell phone commercials. The more bars you have, the better your mpg's. It doesn't show any numbers. I have determined that it is only there for entertainment purposes.

i have hard the bar topped out on some trips and only getting 14mpg avg and i have had as good as 22mpg and the bar or course stays topped out. it's not really a great system. If you are very heavy footed then you could keep that gauge low.

My girlfriend's Mariner has the instantaneous MPG display and I find it somewhat useful, AFTER the average MPG has had some time to normalize. You can then use it to determine what cruising speeds result in better or worse MPGs.
