test run coming up

I am going to get the new-to-me excursion out on the road this weekend for our first of the season trip with the camper. I'll be leaving behind the 1994 Club Wagon for the first time in a long time.

The Ex: 2000 V10 XLT, 4x4, 4.30 LS

Mods/upgrades so far:

Bilsteins
Hellwig rear anti-sway bar
Roadmaster Active Suspension
2WD struts on rear hatch

Repairs/maintenance:

Upper and lower ball joints on left

Add-ons for towing:

Prodigy brake controller
Propride 3p hitch

Camper: 1989 27' Yellowstone travel trailer, 6500# loaded

My 19 y.o. and 7 y.o. sons and I are driving down to coastal CT to pick up my 24 y.o. son and heading to the Hammonasset State Park for the weekend. It's a nice campground right on the Long Island Sound. We're thinking burgers, dogs, S'mores and some time out of Mom's hair.

I'm anxious to see how well the Ex does. The old van pulled beautifully smooth with the old Pullrite hitch, but was down on power coming through the mountains.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Your Ex should do fine. It's downhill !

We live near the LI Sound, but are going to NH on vacation. Go figure.

A 4.30 equipped V10 with Bilsteins, Hellwig rear anti-sway bar & Roadmaster Active Suspension? No worries. You're gonna have a blast!

I tow a 10,000 lbs empty 32 foot travel trailer. I have no problems at all. I did the VB spring swap, and only have the 5.4...

You'll have a breeze!

sounds like you have all of your stuff ready. i pull a 30ft camper with me EX but i'm slowly doing the mods. i have found some local gas stations that have ethanol free gas. seems like that the EX runs better and i get a little more mpg. have fun camping, my family and i are going camping at myrtle beach, sc this week.
