The cheap thing is air filter - when they clog up they don't flow as well, so truck ends up overfueling.

The more expensive thing are injectors - when they wear with use their springs weaken, causing them to open earlier and stay open for longer, thus dumping more fuel in the engine, and also dumping it a bit too early, both resulting in an incomplete burn.

ya i did just put a k&n in it so i guess i may be looking into injectors.... any brand that is better?

i also noticed the truck is harder to start when cold then when i first got it .. when warm fires right up even tho on the rare time i will forget to warm the glow plugs

i dont think it would be injectors because my friend has a 6.5 that the injectors are almost junk in and it starts hard weather cold or hot.

but if there just starting to go it might be injectors, it could be a valve seat going out

I would pull the K&N filter out and do a test run and see if it goes away.
